Calum Munro is an associate fellow at PPG, located at the company’s Coatings Innovation Center near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Over his career, he has contributed to major advancements in coatings, adhesives and sealants through a series of technical and leadership roles supporting innovation across transportation, infrastructure and industrial manufacturing markets. Calum has led foundational research as director, discovery, advancing new technologies for PPG’s global coatings businesses, and later served as director, industrial coatings research and global technical director, industrial coatings, guiding strategy and development across a diverse product portfolio.
Following these roles, Calum has been focused on accelerating enterprise growth in emerging spaces such as mobility and electrification, where advanced materials play increasingly critical roles. Originally from Scotland, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Forensic and Analytical Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde. He remains deeply committed to advancing materials science and mentoring future innovators.
