Director of Technology Development at The Arthur G. Russell Co. and adjunct faculty, Romano has been involved in process and automation control systems for over 45 years. Romano holds an AS, BS, MS, MBA, and Ph.D. and has served as a division president for an automated machine builder. He founded a systems integration company with expertise in connecting the factory floor to the business system. Romano teaches at two universities and serves as chair of the ISA’s IIoT Technical Committee. He was awarded the 2022 ISA SM/IIoT Division Leader of the Year Award and was named an ISA Fellow in 2025. He is also currently on the ISA Technical Assembly where he leverages his education and experience as a subject matter expert positioning ISA in both established and emerging topics related to automation.
